Dune du Pilat Parking: Where to Park

The official paid car park is located at the foot of the dune, on the forest side. It provides direct access to the main staircase leading to the top. During peak season, it can get very busy, so it’s best to arrive early, especially in summer.

Bordeaux to Dune du Pilat: How to Get There

From Bordeaux, the journey takes around one hour by car. You can also take a train to Arcachon and then a Baïa bus to the site. This makes the Dune du Pilat an easy destination for a day trip from Bordeaux.

Is It Difficult to Climb the Dune du Pilat?

A staircase is installed from April to November to make the climb easier. Outside this period, visitors climb directly on the sand. The ascent is manageable for most visitors, as long as you take your time.

How Long Does It Take to Visit the Dune du Pilat?
