This is an authentic Savoyard village surrounded by magnificent scenery halfway between Geneva (40km) and Chamonix (55km). Situated on a broad plateau above the Arve valley, enjoying maximum sunshine throughout the year, Les Carroz is the perfect venue for family holidays. Les Carroz means "crossroads" or "crossing". Before the development of tourism the village was no more than a few alpine farms.
The ski area of Les Carroz comprises: 1 gondola - la Kédeuze in the heart of the Grand Massif with a magnificent view of Mont Blanc, 6 chair lifts and 8 drag lifts giving a height gain of 3 912 m (30 pistes: 8 green, 15 blue, 9 red, 3 black). The resort has the Petits Montagnards award for facilities for children. In winter, free shuttle buses circulate throughout the village to take you to the pistes and ski school meeting places.
