  • THINGS TO SEE:

    • History and heritage: The Place de la Réunion is the hub of Mulhouse. In the Middle Ages it was already used for markets, fairs and ceremonies. The Hôtel de Ville (Town Hall) is here, as well as many historic buildings, like the Temple Saint-Etienne,the-Maison-Mieg,the-Pharmacie-aux-Lys.
In medieval times the city was encircled by outer walls. But, with the development of the town in the 19th century, the ramparts were destroyed and the ancient ditches filled in or vaulted. You can still follow the remains from gate to gate: the Jeune, Miroir, Bâle and Haute Gates. The only remains of the fortifications still visible today are the Nessel and Diable Towers-and-the-Bollwerk-Tower.
